Artist Bio

Laura Nelsen is a Norman-based artist who creates art in a variety of media.  She graduated with a BFA from Metropolitan State University of Colorado with an emphasis in painting.  While painting was her first passion, exploration of various materials and techniques to create multimedia pieces currently intrigues her most.  Born in Oklahoma and raised in Colorado contributes to her unique perspective.  Professionally, her work varies from leading workshops to public art projects plus exploring sculptural techniques in the studio, all while working as the part-time director's assistant at Resonator Institute.  Her strong commitment to her community and passion for the arts are demonstrated by her ability to encourage others to express themselves, explore their inherent creativity, and foster meaningful relationships through artistic engagement.
